copyright.gifThere's a proposed legislation that will implement a “three strikes” rule in the UK. Under this proposed legislation, if you’re suspected of downloading copyright infringing material for three separate times, British ISPs will be legally required to suspend your access to the Internet.
 
Canadian Privacy Commissioner: Copyright reform a threat to privacy

Jennifer Stoddart, the Privacy Commissioner of Canada wrote a public letter to Industry Minister Jim Prentice and Canadian Heritage Minister Josée Verner, Stoddart cautioned against using forthcoming copyright legislation to undermine privacy.

Opera files antitrust complaint against Microsoft in the EU

opera-logo.jpgOpera Software ASA, creator of the Opera browser, filed a complaint with the European Commission on December 12th against Microsoft. In the complaint, Opera describes how Microsoft is abusing its dominant position by tying its browser, Internet Explorer, to the Windows operating system and by hindering interoperability by not following accepted Web standards.
