Kraft filed a suit in October where they allege P&G's plastic container infringes on Kraft's patents for its Maxwell House brand.
This suit came not long after the suit filed by P&G against Kraft last August in a federal court in San Francisco, California where they wanted a similar patent infringement ruling over Kraft's use of the plastic Maxwell House coffee containers.
According to BusinessWeek, Kraft Foods in its suit alleges that a plastic container for P&G's Folger's
brand infringes on Kraft's patents in use with its Maxwell House brand.
Kraft is seeking unspecified damages. The company also
wants P&G to stop sales of the Folger's plastic coffee container, saying
Kraft will be harmed if those sales continue.
P&G responded last week with a suit of its own in the same court,
spokesman Bryan Brown said. The suit alleges containers Kraft uses for Maxwell
House violate one of P&G's patents. The suit likewise seeks unspecified
damages and asks that a judge rule to prevent Kraft from using P&G's patents.
To get the whole thing straight, P&G sued Kraft last August then Kraft sued P&G this October and finally, P&G sued Kraft again last Wednesday. Boy, I surely hope I got it right. I could use a strong cup of coffee right now.
Thank god this patented plastic can keeps the coffee fresh for longer. MMMMMM. Delicious.
